Aluminium joinery is often a stand-out feature in a home’s architecture, adding significant value and quality of life for homeowners,” James says. He describes the industry as one which is continually evolving as homeowner and industry expectations that inform product design, building standards and codes continue to evolve. “We often work with homeowners, architects and designers directly and also have some very long-standing relationships with prominent home-building companies, such as Golden Homes, who have their own in-house design team,” he says. James’ role involves liaising with national customers and working on the overall strategies impacting the supply chain. He says he’s proud of the fact that Bradnam’s® is known for the quality of its robust, well-performing products, and that Golden Homes’ needs mesh tightly with Bradnam’s® capabilities as a result of many years of working together. “We’re not the cheapest in the market. We don’t cut corners, and we pride ourselves that we are backed by the research and innovation carried out by our parent company, Altus® NZ Limited – that places us securely in the markets we serve.” These days, James says, there’s a significant push towards improving joinery’s thermal performance. “We work really actively with both customers and suppliers on the best solution to achieve results. When you consider the positive impact in terms of comfort and energy consumption that Bradnam’s® joinery offers, there are considerable savings to be made over time, justifying the initial investment in our products that go into every Golden Homes house built.” James says having established such a long business relationship with Golden Homes has resulted in the development of extremely high-performing installation methodologies. “It basically involved the installation of the joinery being fixed through the aluminium, rather than through timber. This results in a much more robust, absolutely rock-bottom failure rate with Golden Homes. We supply hundreds of house-lots to them every year.” He is also proud of the fact that, regardless of location, Bradnam’s® offers a consistent service nationally. Altus® Window Systems’ patented technology sits at the heart of the residential joinery products that Bradnam’s® manufactures, providing customers with guarantees around the weather-tightness of the joinery. “The connector system has earned a reputation across the New Zealand building sector as the most innovative available,” Jamnes says. “The connectors provide peace of mind to homeowners that their precious asset will be well protected for years to come, even though they are unseen once the joinery is fitted.” Bradnam’s® offers customers a comprehensive array of resources to help inform joinery selection. These include downloads, product care videos, installation instructions and building product information requirements. The product range spans doors, windows, entrance doors, and hardware items, such as handles and digital locks. There is also plenty of information on glazing systems and colour options if needed. “We’re here to ensure each customer’s unique needs for every home, every building, are met. Our branch teams understand thoroughly the aluminium joinery systems we design and manufacture and there’s plenty of information on our website. And of course we’re just a phone call away.” Bradnam’s® Windows & Doors NZ was established by owner Altus® NZ Limited in 2002. Today, the company has branches in Auckland, Rotorua and Christchurch and manufactures window and door joinery consignments to order.
