Supreme Plumbing CONTRACTING A decade in, Auckland-based Supreme Plumbing is proving that doing things the right way, for clients, employees, and the wider industry, delivers long-term success. Founded by director Rob Teina in 2015, and partnering with employee Tom Kerrison in 2021, Supreme Plumbing has become a trusted name across Auckland for its professional plumbing, gasfitting, and drainage services. From large commercial projects to day-today residential maintenance, the company is driven by a philosophy of quality workmanship and giving back to the trade that shaped Rob’s career. “I started Supreme Plumbing because I wanted to do better, not just for myself but for the young guys coming through the industry,” Rob says. “I’m passionate about training and creating opportunities for people who might not otherwise get a foot in the door.” Rob, a certified plumber with more than 15 years’ experience, worked for over a decade with another plumbing firm before deciding to branch out on his own. He has since built a company that is as focused on developing people as it is on delivering technical excellence. “Every three years we bring in a new group of apprentices,” Rob says. “I don’t necessarily take the guys with all the top marks. I want the ones who are a bit rough around the edges and give them a chance to prove themselves. With the right support and mentoring they can have a career for life.” That mentoring culture extends across the entire team. The Supreme Plumbing team’s 60-plus years of combined experience comes from a mix of seasoned tradespeople and enthusiastic apprentices, creating a workplace where knowledge and skills are constantly shared. “We’ve got great customers, great employees, and a great community, and it all comes back to doing things properly,” Rob says. “We tell the team this is more than just a day job. It’s about building relationships and taking pride in the work we leave behind.” Supreme Plumbing’s scope of services is extensive. It covers everything from residential renovations and hot water systems to largescale civil works and commercial fit-outs. The team also offers specialist services including CCTV drain inspections, electrofusion welding, core drilling, and backflow prevention. All are delivered with the same attention to detail that has become the company’s trademark. Together, Rob and Tom maintain a healthy and open company culture through regular meetings and catch-ups. “It’s important to us that the whole team feels supported,” Rob says. “If they make a mistake, we deal with it and move on. “We can’t eliminate mistakes entirely, but we’re professionals and it’s up to us to show our clients that we will always sort out whatever comes along.” As Supreme Plumbing looks to the future, Rob says the focus remains the same. The aim is to grow the business sustainably, support the team, and continue delivering quality work that keeps customers coming back. “It’s all about trust with our staff, our clients, and our community. That’s how we have built Supreme Plumbing, and that’s how we will keep moving forward.” “We tell the team this is more than just a day job. It’s about building relationships and taking pride in the work we leave behind.” Residential Commercial Renovations New Builds Extensions 021 237 8281 chris@cmprojects.co.nz Chris Martin www.cmprojects.co.nz
