+64 27 444 2368 sales@tallykey.co.nz Reliability and functionality combined with aesthetic appeal were the key factors in TallyKey being selected by the Wynyard Edge Alliance and Viaduct Marina to provide the power and water pedestals for 36th running of the America’s Cup, says Marathon Director Joe Nowak. Marathon Products Limited (MPL) has distributed TallyKey products since 2004. “The decision considered our ability to be responsive and deliver long lasting solutions. We are very proud to be playing a role in this global event,” he says. TallyKey provides the highest quality power and water delivery systems available in the market. “The products are suitable for a wide variety of applications from basic lighting and power to more sophisticated solutions including cloud-based user interface. TallyKey pedestals, modules and peripherals can be engineered to provide a wide range of amperages, remote-monitoring and remote-control functionality. “The pedestals are engineered and constructed to be durable in the harsh conditions in which they must perform. There are TallyKey pedestals that remain in service for over 26 years now. MPL has served Viaduct Marina since 2011 delivering custom solutions for superyachts. Joe says one key challenge for Viaduct Marina back then was endlessly variable amperage requirements by arriving guests, hailing from all corners of the globe. Marathon Products delivered a flexible TallyKey solution that prepared the marina for nearly any vessel that came looking for a berth. That logic has also been followed for America’s Cup including a solution called TallyBee to remotely read and control power consumption in real time. It utilises state-of-the-art radio technology to link all pedestals to a master radio. Leading the way with TallyKey www.tallykey.co.nz Data is updated continuously via connection to the master. Data is stored in three locations and further backed up to assure historical integrity. Joe says that MPL has filled a gap in the market in Oceania. “We provide a very high level of local service and support including a large inventory of products and parts. This means we can be very responsive to customers’ needs,” he says. Every project solution the company proposes sees evaluation and a multi-disciplined engineering assessment. “We want to be sure to solve both long term and short term problems for our customers. Our engineering team makes extensive use of computer-aided design, CNC manufacturing techniques and destructive testing to ensure our products are up to the rigors of each application,” explains Joe. He says that relationships are essential to MPL and its business success has been gained through integrity and electrical experience in the marina sector. “At MPL we work with our customers to solve their individual operational challenges in the most cost-effective way. We provide the best possible solution for the long run. Helping customers solve operational challenges with TallyKey has been a satisfying enterprise. It is a very well-designed product with meaningful features, technically capable and designed to be serviceable. By maintaining a robust inventory of support stock onshore, Marathon is able to be responsive when damage occurs on the marina. That combination is good for TallyKey users and gratifying for MPL to administer. TallyKey will supply the power to America’s Cup teams and guests alike to ensure they are charged up and ready to set new records and enjoy spectacular racing each day.”
