Servicing the venue is a commercial kitchen for hirers who wish to bring in their own caterer.” What is especially nice for both Bea and Anna is that both have a history with the building. Returning to their home-town after time seeking education and life experiences elsewhere, they enjoy being back in this familiar space. Bea says Forum North has a vital role to play in the region’s economic development, by delivering positive social opportunities for the community. “It’s about the four well-beings. Our social, economic, environmental and cultural well-beings are all supported through events and event spaces for our communities. Forum North is a place where anyone can come along to learn, grow, perform and expand their horizons.” While Whangarei is also well-geared to host summer outdoor events, Bea and Anna are keen to see the potential to open up Forum North to a wide array of activities and events all year through. “Opportunities for our communities to come in and see what this venue has to offer is incredibly important to us.
