A business case is currently being prepared around what will be included in Stage Three, which Aimee says will be all to do with new fun pool facilities. “Once we’ve modernised our existing assets we will turn our minds to what other features can be added that our community wants. We’ve been told very clearly in any community engagement, that people want a hydroslide and bombing pool. “We have a lot of space on site, so there’s a real opportunity to add in a dedicated learn to swim school pool, splash pad and water play for young people, outdoor spas — we have the luxury of a lot of geothermal energy —and of course a hydroslide and bombing pool. “We aim for that to be mostly externally funded, and so we’re looking at opportunities with commercial partners as well as funders.”
