What an achievement. As we approach our own 70th Birthday this September, we are mindful of the value of successful Partnerships in business. We have been trading with Visy NZ for the past 25 years. After establishing themselves in Auckland in 1995, irstly in the manufacture of Custom cartons, Visy turned their attention to Stock cartons and Single faced Corrugated rolls. Knowing they needed the services of a reliable distributor, E C Attwood Ltd as we were known then, was chosen. The charismatic duo of Andrew Gleeson and John Savery were the driving force, coupled with some very motivated Sales Account Managers saw this side of the business grow exponentially. Attwood’s and Visy have grown together with similar goals i.e., customer satisfaction, quality product, competitive pricing and most importantly, on-time delivery. Visy is an important customer of Attwood’s and this further cements the relationship. The past three years have been especially challenging with supply of paper-based products. Visy coped with the situation thus enabling us to keep supply lines open. The establishment of the new plant at Hamilton has seen a huge improvement in supply. The State-of-the-Art manufacturing plant has resulted in e iciency gains second to none. Coupled with an improved Main Highway has seen deliveries improve with much happier drivers. Our founder Eddie Attwood, although sceptical at irst at another player entering the market, saw the long-term bene its that dealing with Visy would bring and his vision has proved to be right. Attwood’s management has continued our relationship with Visy and considers the partnership vital to our continued growth and success. Well done Visy, we look forward to the next 75 years.
