Already 24 out of the 29 units have found occupants but Tania says limited opportunities still exist. Each two-bedroom unit in the village offers 109sqm of space within a gated community. She says the village offers a secure and comfortable environment for residents, allowing them to downsize without sacrificing their independence. The village is situated on reserve land, and units are available for purchase through an Occupation Right Agreement. Tania says this arrangement ensures that residents can enjoy the benefits of the community without the burden of property ownership, simplifying the transition to a more relaxed and carefree lifestyle. With a focus on community wellbeing and engagement, the Porritt Glade Lifestyle Village is situated just off River Road, near to a wealth of nearby attractions and amenities. Residents can explore walking trails, sports clubs, the district library and museum, and the Maurie Kjar Memorial Pool Complex. “If people are interested and would like more information, or wish to view a unit, or would like a copy of the prospectus which has further details about purchasing one of these units and the Occupation Rights Agreement, please contact the Council. Council will also keep a log of interested couples or individuals for any units that may become available in the future.” Tania says that the Kawerau District Council remains committed to its mission of creating vibrant, sustainable communities that cater to diverse needs. It is currently developing another project called Stoneham Park, a subdivision offering 80-100 lots suited to a cross section of housing typologies for a range of purchasers. Tania says small lots sizes from 300sqm, will deliver affordability. Tania underscores the pivotal role played by Veros, emphasising that its property development expertise will be instrumental in bringing this project to fruition, especially given the council’s stature as a small entity.
