| 101 T T Kelly Deeks Ruapehu adds to dynamic range With three double bedrooms including master with ensuite and walk-in-robe, open plan living and dining and separate media room, the Ruapehu has been designed to maximise space. Generation Homes Central North Island BUILDING Generation Homes Central North Island has brought another unique show home to the region with the new Ruapehu plan on Maru Terrace, in Wharewaka. The mountainous surroundings have inspired the beautiful black, grey and white external colour palette of this pavilion style home, with raking ceilings, and its floor to ceiling windows. With three double bedrooms including master with ensuite and walk-in-robe, open plan living and dining and separate media room, the Ruapehu has been designed to maximise space. The pavilion style allows for two separate wings for sleeping and living. Its cosy lounge with fireplace and generous alfresco spaces with native plantings and thoughtful landscaping bring flexibility for both winter and summer living. Generation Homes Central North Island managing director Paul Marshall says the impressive kitchen was designed in response to Council rules restricting the permitted size of the home from 216sqm to 189sqm. “We had to pull it back and make it work,” he says. “Walk in pantries and sculleries continue to be a popular feature that we wanted to include in our new show home, but the size reduction was making it difficult. Our team came up with a twist on the traditional C shape kitchen. We have created a concealed pantry that feels like a continuation of the main kitchen area. The exterior wall has a long bench-height window, tiled around to merge with the splash back, and it all comes together really well. It is really different, and people love it when they visit.” Bringing something different to each new show home is standard practice for the Generation Homes team, whose plan range continues to evolve and modernise as each new custom show home is developed. The T T Central Cove - page 101 pavilion style of the Ruapehu was selected as it hadn’t been done in the central region before, and Paul and his team have added a few more features of interest. In the fully tiled bathrooms, there are small tiles in places but in others, big 1200x600mm tiles. “They’re pretty impressive,” he says. “If you have a 2.4m ceiling height, you’d get two of these tiles up the wall.” Upgraded white bowl-style vanities sit atop custom wooden bathroom joinery, completed with white tapware to give these private spaces a really calm cohesion. The open floating shelves in the ensuite manage to beautifully blend style with functionality. The media room has been colour drenched in Dulux Te Kuiti, an interesting choice. “If visitors to our show home hate a feature, that’s all they’ll remember.” Paul Says. “Putting black in the media room is a bold statement but I trusted my staff and their expertise and was confident it would work.” The reaction from visitors has been positive, with many commenting that they are surprised at how much they love the look. It has worked, and along with all of the other selections, this show home has inspired three new customers to build with Generation Homes Central North Island since it opened in March. 021 879 629 mazelandscapes@yahoo.co.nz www.landscapingtaupo.com • Landscape Excellence • Creative Solutions • Quality Craftsmanship Proudly supporting Generation Homes MAZE LANDSCAPES simply aMAZE’n GROOMBRIDGE Panasonic HEAT PUMPS 0274 957 750 0273 382 277 WE ARE PROUD TO SUPPORT GENERATION HOMES
