Founded by Daniel Klinkenberg and his wife Bronwyn in 2004, Urban Homes has grown from a local builder to a multi-award-winning company, recognised for its commitment to quality and innovation in home construction across the Waikato, South Auckland, and Coromandel regions. To commemorate this milestone, Urban Homes recently conducted its 20 Year Celebration Tour, offering a unique opportunity for the public to explore eleven of its stunning Waikato builds in a single day. “We treat each build project like our very own masterpiece because we demand and expect the best. This philosophy has driven Urban Homes to consistently deliver high-quality homes across a range of styles, from classic first homes to luxury designer residences,” says Daniel. The tour not only showcased the company’s craftsmanship but also supported a worthy cause, raising over $10,000 for the True Colours Children’s Health Trust, demonstrating Urban Homes’ commitment to giving back to the community that has supported its growth over the years. Urban Homes’ journey has been marked by numerous accolades, including the prestigious Master Builders House of the Year Platinum Award in 2022. “It’s a real accomplishment, especially as we were the first Waikato housing firm recipient of the award. It’s a real testament to our quality and team and showcases our consistent achievement of quality and that we are consistently raising the bar.” The company’s six national titles, including the 2021 GIB National Show Home of the Year and multiple awards in 2019, underscore its consistent excellence in the industry. The company’s growth was recognised by its inclusion in the Deloitte Fast 50 index in 2019, a testament to its rapid expansion and solid business practices. As part of its future growth strategy, Urban Homes is now venturing into franchising. The company is actively seeking partners in South Auckland and the Bay of Plenty, with plans to expand nationwide. The first franchisee was launched earlier this year in April in the Coromandel, with long-standing staff members relocating to Whitianga to take on the opportunity. “We have a lot of learnings and systems we have developed over the years that inform how we do what we do. We are now rolling that out in our franchise offering,” Daniel explains. “We’re looking for like-minded people to partner with and grow their business to ultimately reach their potential.” In line with its expansion, Urban Homes continues to offer attractive house and land packages across a wide variety of locations in Hamilton, Matamata, Cambridge, Whitianga, Te Awamutu, Raglan, Ngaruawahia, Rukuhia, Ngahinapouri, Matangi, Gordonton, Tamahere and Karaka. Adding to its portfolio of show homes, Urban Homes has recently unveiled The Meadows in Hamilton North. Daniel says that this new display home has been well received. “Feedback has been that people can really see our commitment to innovative design and quality craftsmanship.” He says that The Meadows show home exemplifies Urban Homes’ approach to modern living, featuring expansive corner meeting sliding doors that connect the open-plan living area to a generous alfresco space with an adjustable louvered ceiling. A stylish interior bar nestled within a recessed archway and a floating timber ceiling add to the home’s charm and sophistication. The cleverly delivered plan pulls together the finest design features on offer for enjoyable modern living, demonstrating Urban Homes’ ability to create spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, says Daniel. As Urban Homes celebrates its 20th anniversary, Daniel says that the company’s focus remains on excellence and continuous improvement. With an incredibly talented team of dedicated professionals, a growing franchise network, and a portfolio of desirable house and land packages, Urban Homes is well positioned for the next chapter in its success story.
