Established in 2018, Dream Builders is owned and managed by licensed building practitioners Adam Peach and Paul Beadle in conjunction with experienced project manager Mike Keen. With a team of 25 in total, including a dedicated group of carpenters, roofers and support staff, Dream Builders has the capacity to operate multiple projects simultaneously and manage a wide range of local subcontractors. “We have long term collaborations with local trades and architects and our expertise extends to high end bespoke residential architecture, commercial builds and fit outs, new roofs and re-roofing, and custom transportable homes or minor dwellings,” says Mike. A substantial portion of Dream Builders’ portfolio is dedicated to school renewal projects for the Ministry of Education. They have undertaken significant renovations at most schools around the North Island including Kawakawa Primary, Bay of Islands College, and Okaihau College. These projects range from classroom refurbishments to complete reroofing and joinery installations. Noteworthy features in these projects include the installation of CO2 readers and electric window actuators at Bay of Islands College, enhancing the learning environment by improving air quality and ventilation. “We’ve refurbished eight classrooms, re-roofed multiple blocks and installed new joinery,” says Mike. “We’ve also installed CO2 readers in the refurbished classrooms so they’re adequate for a healthy learning environment.” Their work also involves critical safety upgrades, such as asbestos removal. At Okaihau College, Dream Builders have completed re-roofing works, and also refurbishments to their administration block and L Block, which is a bank of four classrooms plus a resource room. “This is a full interior refurb including joinery upgrades new data cabling and over summer we’ll complete a swimming pool resurfacing and pool refencing project.” Kerikeri and Kawakawa Primary Schools have also received classroom and cloak room upgrades, re-roofing and new decking projects as well. Te Kura O Waikare and Oromahoe School have had historical features restored including colonial era skirting and architraves. On the residential front, Dream Builders have crafted a variety of bespoke new homes, studios, sleepouts and transformational renovations. They are currently working on an architectural new home, designed by local architect Martin O’Brien, and set on a picturesque peninsula overlooking the Black Rocks and Hole in the Rock on the East Coast.
