This million-dollar extensive renovation of a two storey 1990’s circa family home, began in March. It includes a significant interior remodel and upgrades to main kitchen, upstairs kitchenette and laundry. “They’re recladding the house, pushing out a couple of walls and redoing the kitchen and upstairs tearoom,” says Duncan, “so we’re putting in new gas pipework’s and gas heating system and some heat pump cooling plus gas hot water for kitchen and laundry.” The challenges on site include an unforgiving existing cladding material and the space constraints of having to work within the confines of the existing structure, adding new fixtures and integrating new and existing systems, says Duncan. A complex, two storey renovation but one that was working to plan. “The reason it works out is because we planned thoroughly prior,” says Duncan. “We’ve reviewed the plans, priced it to budget and we knew what it was going to take, and we understand this type of renovation.
