We’re also fortunate to have some awesome supply partners who help us with that process.” With over 20 years working in the construction sector, the decision by Jeff and Jaimee Price to take over Jennian Homes Coromandel/Hauraki in 2023 made sense for a number of good reasons. “The brand is very well regarded and we were already living on the Coromandel, as I grew up in the area. We did a bit of homework nation-wide and could see the region was more design and build which we wanted to focus the business on and we could see untapped potential given the reputation it had established,” says Jeff. The business extends to include Hauraki region which offered more scope in types of builds Jennian could undertake. The region boasts a spectacular coast line, to the rural and riverside settlements covering the Hauraki Plains therefore design options are endless depending on the client needs. This year has seen Jennian Homes Coromandel/Hauraki enter two houses in the Registered Master Builders House of the Year Auckland/Northland/Coromandel regions, with results announced at a Gala Dinner event held in Auckland on Saturday, 8 August. We won Gold for our Whangamatā entry and a Bronze for our Matarangi entry. Jeff says key to the company’s continued success is its client focus. And it’s not just new builds they take on, but also renovations. “We have clients who love where they live and don’t want to move. They just want to have their home better reflect their current lifestyle requirements and this is where our design team can really come to the fore. We love to see projects of this nature evolve.” Jeff says clients can engage their own architects to design their home and Jennian Build, or our Jennian Homes team manage the complete process, develop a design, knock down and build the client’s dream home. “The whole thing is about making it really simple. We’re also fortunate to have some awesome supply partners who help us with that process.” Having come into the business through a time in the market Jeff describes as ‘just ticking along’, the couple have worked hard to position themselves in the community, supporting it with sponsorship and being involved in community group activities. “We’re also expanding more into Hauraki Plains with builds scheduled to get underway soon,” he says. While the team is small — a project manager working with Jeff and Jaimee along with New Home Consultant Shelley — Jeff says he’s pleased with how the business has performed and recognises its potential to grow further in what is a very special part of the country. “It comes down simply to upholding high standards. I won’t deliver a house I am not willing to live in.” Jeff says he’s observing a shift in Whangamatā, away from its history as a bach town to more permanent residents. He also notes a number of clients are not permanent residents so trust is very important. “This is something we place a great deal of importance on. We’re solutions driven and we have to make the building process easy.
