Kelly Deeks A n innovation in fencing technology is set to put Winton’s Clark Brothers Fencing ahead of the rest as it partners with Summit Steel and Wire to import a new hydraulic wire dispens- ing and tensioning machine with the ability to hold rolls of netting up to 500m in length. As well as importing these Solonet machines from the UK, Summit Steel and Wire is setting up a preferred installers scheme, for which Simon and Tim Clark will be the preferred installers for Southland. Used to working with 100m and 200m coils of netting, Simon says this new machine will allow for a significant speed up, especially on the bigger jobs. “It’s definitely going to be a good thing for us,” he says. “It will improve our efficiency on bigger projects. Summit Steel and Wire are promoting us to their customers through Farmlands multime- dia.” For this young company, a wee bit of promotion will go a long way. Simon and Tim are already out there proving their worth, with the brothers pro- viding some really tidy work all around Southland on fencing repairs and maintenance, sheep and cattle yards, waterways fencing, and post and rail where they enjoy the satisfaction and reward of being able to transform the look of a house and its grounds with its fencing. RURAL SERVICES » Clark Brothers Fencing On rural fencing, the dairy conversions have all but finished in Southland, but compliance fencing is a fast growing market. “We are seeing more and more waterways fencing going forward, and everyone needs their fencing to be compliant,” Simon says. “Every farmer needs to be on board with pro- tecting our waterways, and every farmer we’ve spoken to is talking about it. We’re seeing wet- land developments, farmers fencing and planting and putting their land back to how it used to be.” With a family farming background, and Simon previously working as a farm manager and Tim as a qualified stonemason, the brothers understand the requirements of their customers while also bringing an eye for precision to every fencing project. “Every farmer needs to be on board with protecting our waterways, and every farmer we’ve spoken to is talking about it. We’re seeing wetland developments, farmers fencing and planting and putting their land back to how it used to be.” Bevan 0277413213 · western.fencing@yahoo.com
