Corteva Agriscience’s New Zealand launch in 2019 signalled a new beginning for an organisation with a longstanding local heritage and market presence. Globally, the Corteva Agriscience product o ering was initially comprised of the three heritage portfolios – Dow AgroSciences, DuPont Crop Protection and DuPont Pioneer. The Corteva Agriscience NZ business is entirely focused on crop protection. Corteva Agriscience NZ includes a close knit commercial team comprised of the Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, a Marketing Communications Specialist, Customer Services Representative and ive Territory Sales Managers. “We are supported by a local Field Scientist plus Customer Services, Supply, Production and Distribution teams across our global network,” says New Zealand Sales Manager Richard Brenton-Rule. “We’re also very fortunate to have one of Corteva Agriscience’s global R&D ield stations right on our doorstep at Waireka, in Taranaki.” As part of the Asia-Paci ic (APAC) regional structure, Corteva Agriscience NZ is well supported by its global network. The wider APAC business, which provides support in Portfolio Leadership, Business Management and Administration, play a signi icant role in the New Zealand business. “Our route to market is exclusively through the retail distributor channel, including merchants such as Luisetti Seeds. The team are focused on supporting and enabling sales through distributors to other key in luencers We have a number of customer and product focused programmes and initiatives in place now to support these e orts.” While the Corteva brand is relatively new, its portfolio of products is well established in New Zealand’s major horticultural and agricultural markets. “Our herbicides, insecticides and fungicides support a diverse range of markets — from arable and horticulture, to pastures and forages, ” says Richard. The Tordon™ range of herbicides is synonymous with weed and brush control in pastures. Likewise, other brands such as T Max™, Versatill™ PowerFlo™, Gallant™ Ultra, Preside™ and Starane™ are familiar to pastoral, forage cropping and arable farmers nationwide. Richard says recent launches of Paradigm™ and Rexade™ herbicides into the cereal market plus Korvetto™ and Milestone™ herbicides into forage brassicas are proving e ective and well received. Our range of IPM friendly insecticides, Prodigy™, Sparta™, Uphold™, Transform™, and BioGro-certi ied Entrust™ are performing strongly. Fungicides Talendo®, Kocide® Opti, Fontelis®, and Zorvec® Enicade® are well supported in horticulture disease control programmes while Questar™ and Acanto® play an important role in cereal fungicide programmes. “We will continue our focus on delivering innovative new technologies to market. Our product development pipeline is ramping up and this is presenting great opportunities for the New Zealand market.
