56 | Dedicated to helping Kiwi farmers When farmers need help quickly Power Farming Hawkes Bay will oblige. Karen Phelps Power Farming Hawkes Bay is dedicated to helping Kiwi farmers to grow their businesses by farming smarter. With a vast array of new and used machinery and equipment, the Power Farming team knows how to help farmers to get the best out of their operation, with automation being a key trend, especially with the current labour shortages, says Power Farming Hawkes Bay owner Aaron White. For orchardists he points to options such as the Fruit Tec trimmer, an attachment for a tractor which means orchardists can simply drive down a row to prune automatically, or the REVO Apple Harvester, which pickers can stand on to pick at the right height and then place apples onto a conveyor belt as the harvester moves along the row. For arable farmers there are equipment options like the new Kverneland Optima Maize and squash planter, which allows farmers to precision plant with accuracy and ease. “It’s ultimately about making jobs quicker, easier and optimising the result farmers are going to get,” says Aaron. Power Farming Hawkes Bay is a joint venture between Aaron, Ben Munford and Power Farming founder Geoff Maber. Aaron was brought up on a farm and has a long career in sales. He worked for Power Farming Hawkes Bay as a sales manager progressing to dealer principle before becoming an owner. Ben has been working in the agricultural equipment and machinery industry for 15 years and also brings vast knowledge.
