Innovation continues to drive the business forward. This season marks its first offering strip tilling as an alternative to conventional tillage for maize crops. “We researched and trialled to find a machine that really suited our clients. It’s the environmental focus going forward, preserving soils and preventing erosion as well as saving costs for our clients,” says Sam. Community engagement remains central to the company’s ethos. It actively sponsors local schools including Rahotu, Opunake High and Coastal Taranaki Schools, as well as supporting the Cape Egmont Boat Club and Coastal Rugby Club. “It’s about giving back. The community supports us and we like to support the community. It could be money or our services or equipment. It’s about helping out where we can,” says Sam. Both Mark and Sam understand the importance of rural community support, having grown up in small communities themselves - Mark in Rahotu and Sam from Kaponga. They say this background has shaped their approach to business and community involvement. Sam and Mark say the achievement of the milestone ten year anniversary not only celebrates the past decade but also sets the stage for future growth and development. “We are really looking forward to taking the business ahead in the next ten years,” says Mark. “And continuing to offer our customers the services they need to take their businesses forward as well.” “Keeping that community and family orientation is important,” says Sam. “What we do is a core requirement for our community but it’s the care for the people we employ that’s made us so successful.”
