Quality has never been compromised Alexia Anderson As welfare standards and facility design requirements continue to rise, NZ Equine Solutions is doing its bit to help meet the industry’s high quality expectations. The Waikato based business has become a trusted one-stop shop for equine facilities nationwide after building a strong reputation for delivering high quality infrastructure, including supplying and installing stables, rubber matting, pavers, accessories and horse walking machines. The business was established in 2017, originally trading as NZ Rubber Solutions which supplied rubber matting to the equine sector. However, the business evolved following the acquisition of NZ Stables, an opportunity ownermanager Phillip Hobern recognised as a chance to grow and evolve. “I had already been working in stable manufacturing since the age of 17, so I had a solid understanding of the industry, the products, and where there was room to improve,” he says. “I’ve never been interested in standing still, I saw an opportunity to build something better and took it.” As the company expanded its product line, a rebrand to NZ Equine Solutions was made to better reflect just what it was capable of, and ultimately embrace its strong desire to ensure the welfare of horses. Despite those changes, its commitment to quality has never been compromised. “Quality isn’t an add on for us, it’s the foundation of everything we build,” Phillip says. Although materials across the sector can be similar, NZ Equine Solutions stands apart in its approach to each project. “Anyone can sell a product. Our focus is delivering the right solution.” Practical design, a clean finish and long term functionality are prioritised on every project, ensuring close attention is given to understand each client’s specific requirements. That same dedication is adopted to ensure the overall quality isn’t rushed, with checks made at every stage. NZ Equine Solutions supplies both NZ made and imported stables, selecting the most suitable option depending on the project. NZ made stables appeal to clients seeking local manufacturing and faster turnaround times, while imported stables provide cost effective solutions for larger-scale developments, supported by advanced RURAL SERVICES » NZ Equine Solutions manufacturing processes and a wider range of design options. The company’s most sought after products include horse walking machines, which Phillip says have become “an essential part of modern horse management”, particularly for safe and consistent warm up and cool down routines. Demand continues to grow for the product as owners and trainers focus more heavily on horse welfare and conditioning. Rubber matting and pavers also play a key role in improving stable environments, offering benefits such as impact reduction, improved hygiene, increased safety and excess bedding requirements. Durability is a major focus, with careful installation and quality control processes ensuring longterm performance. Operating nationwide, NZ Equine Solutions is seeing strong growth in large scale projects, including racecourses, equestrian centres and major private operations. “Projects are getting bigger, and expectations around quality are higher than ever,” Phillip says. “Clients want facilities that look good, function well, and prioritise horse welfare and comfort.” Looking ahead, the business is continuing to grow and evolve, expanding internationally this year. NZ Equine Solutions recently launched its monorail horse walking machine, which has attracted strong domestic demand and growing interest from Australia. Phillip says a standout project for the team so far was the supply and installation of 48 stables and extensive rubber matting at Breckon Farms in 2023. “That project really represents the scale and quality we’re capable of delivering.” We’ve got you covered. • Your complete service provider for all your Hot Dip Galvanizing, Sandblasting and Painting, and Industrial Grating requirements. • Hot Dip Galvanizing gives you the reassurance of protection both inside & out.
