Kim Newth I n Central Hawke’s Bay, Rural Air Work Ltd is delighted to have welcomed a new addition to its growing fleet of agricultural aircraft this year – the Pacific Aerospace Cresco II. Cresco aircraft are already a legend in rural New Zealand. These versatile aerial topdressing planes have been flying the skies over our farms for many years now, but the Cresco II is a brand new release with safety, comfort and technology modifications that bring it right up to date with today’s industry needs. Rural Air Work, an aerial top dressing spreader specialist covering greater Hawke’s Bay, is proud to see the legend return, ready for action and with all new features. The family owned and operated business recently invested $2.5 million in buying their new Cresco II and took delivery of the aircraft earlier this year. Designed and built in New Zealand for New Zealand conditions, Rural Air Work’s Cresco II is equipped with all the very latest TracMap GPS satel- lite mapping technology to support accurate place- ment of product. The aircraft also boasts variable- rate application systems to minimise wastage and reduce environmental impact. Josh and Suzie Calder, owners of Rural Air Work, are thrilled with their new Cresco II, now regularly flying and serving the needs of Hawke’s Bay farm- ers. It joins their existing agricultural aviation fleet, comprising a PAC Fletcher, a PAC XL and their older generation Cresco. All are equipped with TracMap systems and online software, providing a high standard of operational efficiency.
