Several years ago, Farm Focus moved to a cloud-based platform, enabling signi cant ease-of-use and labour saving bene ts and ensuring the team can continue to provide innovations and integrations to other applications in the future. “Our core customer sectors are the farming community as well as horticulturalists,” says Business Development Specialist Katrina McClelland. “But our customers also include farm accountants, rural bankers and farm consultants who are advising their farming clients.” One of the keys to Farm Focus’ success is is that its customers can work together online with their trusted advisers, so that everyone is on the same page when it comes to nancial planning and decision making. “Farm Focus not only enables customers to manage their farm accounts, but also helps them to look ahead, to make the informed decisions for their business into the future. Automated data collection ensures that valuable information is fed through into management reports, and gives customers a clear and up to date picture of where they are sitting. It enables business scenarios to be calculated, determining where the pro table part of the business is or could be. It’s also about risk management. ‘What if we carried on doing what we’re doing and there was a drought? Are we prepared for that?’” Every six weeks new features are added to the software, driven by customer feedback. “Our farming and non-farming clients can report into Farm Focus and tell us what their needs are. Communities within Farm Focus get behind those ideas and vote for them. Development is driven by our clients, and that’s one of the many reasons we’re the leading nancial management software for farmers.” Another reason for the company's success is its support team, who are on hand to pick up the phone and respond to a client’s call, best of all, many of those support people are also farmers - it’s about farmers helping farmers and talking the same language.
