A new on-site driver trainer joined the team six months ago, with the aim of supporting the staff to do their jobs better. From page 49 An exciting initiative from the directors has seen a new on-site driver trainer join the team six months ago, with the aim of supporting the staff to do their jobs and do them better. “They are doing a spectacular job,” Andrew says. “They are available and able to help our people to progress through their classes and support them to do their jobs better, not just the driving but the collection as well. In the past eight months, we have helped about 12 people to get their class four and five licences. For a small company like us, that’s not a bad effort. That’s 12 more people in the industry that weren’t there eight months ago.” Andrew, Central Transport, and Midlands Rural Transport want to make a shout out to all the professional drivers across the country. Andrew says the quality and calibre of New Zealand’s truck driver fleet is very high. “These people have a high skill level to actually be able to drive these big trucks around the country. We’re talking 58 tonne trucks, and they are doing a spectacular job.” RURAL SERVICES » Central Transport I ’s r l o . 8 Aerodrome Rd, Mt Maunganui Sth | 07 572 8009 | office@nationwidecrates.co.nz | www.nationwidecrates.co.nz
