Kelly Deeks RURAL SERVICES » North Canterbury Equipment Ltd F orged from serving the farming and contracting communities’ machinery needs for more than half a century, family-owned NC Equipment’s mission is all about supplying quality machinery, trusted experience, and world class service. Originally known as North Canterbury Equipment LTD, the business was founded in 1965 and pur- chased by Gerard and John Bassett in 1990, who both came from farming backgrounds. The business today is still very much a family owned and run business with the second genera- tion now taken over the management and running of the business with day-to-day sales and market- ing operations managed by Ryan Bassett. Ryan says that without a doubt, NC Equipment has been built on trust with its customers. “Customers rely on us to find the correct solution for their problem with quality equipment,” he says. “Here at NC Equipment we believe that once the machine is sold to a customer, this is just the start of the relationship and the customer can be assured the whole company, including the parts and service department, will support the product and the cus- tomer into the future.” This is why NC Equipment places a large empha- sis on delivering and setting up both new and used machinery and providing excellent workshop and spare parts back-up for all of our equipment. The team’s commitment to providing unparalleled customer service and care from the day of purchase is shared by all of those at NC Equipment. “We are privileged to have senior technicians which consist of two factory qualified outdoor power technicians and two factory qualified farm machinery engineers, with one being our top field service technician who has attended brand training across the world with KRONE, one of our leading brands. ”NC Equipment also carries this philosophy with used equipment. “Our second-hand machines are fully workshop checked and prepared before sale, providing the customer with confidence to purchase from anywhere in New Zealand. Our well stocked parts department and fully equipped work- shop is able to cover all the service needs of their customers, and service vehicles are also on call for on-farm assistance throughout North Canterbury.” NC Equipment has grown over the years to a point where it is now selling all over New Zealand, and has recently been at the forefront of importing some unique, high quality machinery, such as the Agrisem cultivation Range. With the capability of being able to process up to 1000 bales per hour, this machine has quickly become a success with many New Zealand contractors.
