42 | RURAL SOLUTIONS » Advance Agriculture Specialising in supplying plant nutrition products to the primary industry, De Sangosse New Zealand promotes the implementation of innovative agricultural technologies that are designed to improve the soil health, crop quality, and yield by focusing on products for the whole life cycle of the plant. Agronutrition, a fully owned subsidiary of De Sangosse SAS, designs, manufactures andmarkets a range of innovative plant nutrition solutions that provide appropriate and precision nutrition from crop sowing through to harvest. “De Sangosse New Zealand’s plant nutrition range fromAgronutrition can be used on a wide range of crops and throughout di erent growth stages,” says De Sangosse New Zealand South Island territory manager Kieran Fowler. Microstar PZ is an innovative microgranular starter fertiliser, that uses a low application rate per hectare, and allows uptake of phosphorus at crucial early growth stages. Microstar PZ contains high phosphorus at more than 17%, combined with nitrogen, sulphur, and zinc. Microstar PZ is applied at crop sowing, localised in furrow, in contact with the seed. This placement is essential to cover the immediate needs of the young seedlings, securing the crop’s potential. Plant nutrition done right “Using a microgranular starter fertiliser at planting, and in direct proximity with the seed, is essential to providing the crop with nutrition during the irst fewweeks, giving a more even crop emergence and greater plant vigour,” Kieran says. Co-formulated into Microstar PZ is Agronutrition’s innovative patented Phosphorous Preservation Technology, ensuring the phosphorous supplied fromMicrostar PZ isn’t lost in the soil, from leaching or locking up to cations like calcium, aluminium, and iron, before it is utilised by the plant. This co-formulant guarantees Microstar’s 97.5% use coe icient. Another key product of De Sangosse New Zealand’s is Actimax. Actimax has been developed to provide right quantities of key nutrients to improve the health of brassica crops. Using Agronutrition’s specialist suspension concentrate formulation technology, Actimax supplies a wide range of nutrients at high concentrations to the crop. “Timing applications of Actimax with commonly used pesticides on winter forage crops during late-summer to autumn gives the crops a boost of nutrition heading into the cooler months,” Kieran says. “This increases that plant’s ability to photosynthesize and produce chlorophyll, improving crop growth rate and quality for feed.” For over 30 years we’ve been identifying local agrichemical needs and developing innovative local products and technologies to meet them. Many of these have become household names, trusted by farmers and growers throughout New Zealand.
