In fact, Southland Helicopters has just purchased the very latest new Tracmap GPS software, finetuned for the aviation sector to offer even greater accuracy and safety. “With the increased requirements for proof of placement of nitrogen and other fertilisers, farmers need to know what has been applied, where and at what rate in order to meet their environmental targets. They put in a lot of face-to-face time with farmers as they prepare the loading side of the operation before the helicopter arrives. The ground crew are equipped with support vehicles, purpose-built mixing trailers for spraying and high-quality pivot steer loaders for top dressing jobs. This allows them to provide an efficient and tidy service.While the peak of Covid-19 has passed, Hayden notes supply chain disruptions are ongoing. High fuel prices, rising interest rates and a falling NZ dollar are additional challenges.
