Borlase Transport is a five star rated Log Transport Safety Council Certified Contractor clearly showing it is leading by going beyond industry best practice. Steve says that of the approximately 23 contractors that have so far achieved the certification only one other has achieved five stars. It has also achieved ACC Fleet Saver gold status and has a five star operator safety rating with Waka Kotahi. “From our perspective it’s all about continuous improvement. You can be a five star operator but you can always improve and do better. That’s the philosophy we take. We want to be the best at what we do. That’s what drives us, always looking for new ways of doing things.” Steve’s father Duncan started Borlase Transport in the late 70’s and operated as a one-man band for many years. A major contract saw the company experience a growth spurt in the early 90s and it has continued its upward projection of late on the back of the thriving forestry industry. Borlase Transport has grown to 34 trucks. Duncan oversees the business while Steve takes the lead on health and safety.
