| 97 Agronomists rather than sales people Hugh de Lacy Agronomists rather than sales people have been the key to Pukekohe-based Seed and Field Services’ growth into a nationwide resource of nutrition, seed and seed treatment services and supply to crop and livestock farmers. With a branch in Rakaia, Mid-Canterbury, Seed and Field Services works with farmers to get the best possible performance from their soils, and from the seeds they plant in them. As agronomists, the company’s staff are fully focused on finding the right solution to any given farm seeding challenge, then following it through to ensure the optimum outcome. The company is divided into three divisions: Field Division North and the Seed Division both based on Kitchener Road, Pukekohe, and the Field South Division on Elizabeth Avenue, Rakaia. Founded in 1988, the company’s role is to connect New Zealand farmers with the best seed and agronomy products and advice for their conditions. As well as its own agronomists, Seed and Field Services has a close connection with one of the world’s leading specialists in the field, Levity Crop Science, which is based in Lancashire, England.
