| 41 DAIRY INDUSTRY Oceania Dairy Commissioned in 2014, the Oceania Dairy plant currently employs 400 permanent staff with a large recruitment pool from Timaru, Oamaru and Waimate. The caring team at Trinity Employment is the fresh face of recruitment, immigration and HR services, bringing a whole lot of love into working with people. “We genuinely really care about making a di erence and that’s what I look for in my team members,” says Managing Director Cassandra Slumskie. “They have a love for what they do and a love for people. That’s what makes a good recruiter I think — being a people person.” From a background in farming and recruitment, Cassandra founded Trinity Employment August 2020 with a focus on the dairy sector that was experiencing labour shortages when the borders closed. “In my previous role I had done o -shore recruitment for dairy farms, and was quite excited and passionate about helping farmers look at di erent avenues and ways to sta their farms.” A major milestone was reached in the beginning of 2021 when hi-tech milk processing plant Oceania Dairy was taken on as a client. Having grown organically largely through word of mouth and past relationships, Trinity’s o ering expanded to include immigration and HR services with a signi icant increase in its own specialist sta resource. “Trinity’s recruitment services include temporary, permanent, contract or casual placements,” says Cassandra. Making a difference “We provide all immigration services including visas, visa variations, and residencies. With HR and Health & Safety specialists in the team we provide an HR subscription service. We visit site and check over all current policies and procedures to ensure they comply with current legislation. A farmer might want help setting up a performance review system and we can support them through that. It’s helping to change the way people are employed and how employment is managed on some farms.” With o ices in Timaru and Dunsandel, Trinity’s internal team now totals 14, all passionate about looking after their clients throughout the South island. The business now reaches out to a diverse range of sectors including agriculture, processing plants, the construction industry, and transport. “Within the team we have a wealth of knowledge and experience from di erent industries. All our agri-recruiters have been dairy farmers so bring that on-the-ground knowledge to the job. We understand what it’s like to be on the ground doing the job and that makes a huge di erence. It establishes trust and when people trust us they’re willing to work with us. Sta ing is the thing that most businesses have to put a lot of love and care into, and we’re showing people how to do that. They have to trust us for us to be able to do that.” 027 328 5788 | cassandra@trinityemployment.co.nz www.trinityemployment.co.nz RECRUITMENT | IMMIGRATION | HUMAN RESOURCES I | I I I | From recruitment to management, Trinity Employment Services takes care of all your staffing needs.
