Watts & Hughes Construction - Christchurch REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT “Refrigerated trucks will arrive on site, drive through an enclosed tunnel structure maintained at 10° and into the distribution centre for unloading and despatch to the various coolstores by electric forklifts. “Trucks will reverse into an entry point at the other end of the distribution centre, and loaded with produce for despatch to the supermarkets.” The new building has also been designed to high Green Star standards, with a focus on the energy efficiency of insulation, cooling systems, lighting systems, glazing, and the entry and exit points in the building. “Both the HVAC and refrigeration systems are energy efficient, and there’s additional monitoring of all services and building performance.
