For industries that rely heavily on continuous plant operation, the supplier who responds when needed with reliable and quality workmanship is hero, and that is where OnSite Maintenance and Engineering’s star shines bright. A family business specialising in the meat, ish and wastewater industries, OnSite Maintenance and Engineering is based in Rolleston, just on the outskirts of Canterbury, and is operated by Stephen and Leanne Jones. Having worked as a mechanical engineer for 26 years within the meat and rendering process industries, Stephen took the opportunity to establish OnSite Maintenance & Engineering in 2009, building a solid customer base throughout the South Island. “If the customer has a decanter, separator or heat exchanger we can provide parts, service, maintenance and advice regarding that machinery,” says Leanne. “We can help with the maintenance of small plants, ongoing support and mechanical maintenance. Stephen will also provide consulting services on plant needs and machinery requirements, providing the customer with a written report.” With three big decanters, Silver Fern Farms’ Finegand plant is one of OnSite Maintenance & Engineering’s key customers. During the winter o -season, when the customers’ machines are not Keeping things running operating, OnSite Maintenance & Engineering is scheduled to provide the annual service. “We can provide intermediate or major service work on the machinery, depending on the number of hours it has done and its condition”,” explains Leanne. “Big companies like Silver Fern Farms need their plant and all the machinery to be operating 24/7. If something does breakdown, Stephen can o er phone support and/or travel to site if necessary to get the machine operational and minimise any downtime.” Leanne is the company’s parts and pricing specialist and says the company maintains a good supply of Alfa Laval, G Tech and GEA parts. GEA are responsible for Westfalia machines. “We have many parts in stock and can sometimes send them the day they are ordered. If there are parts that a customer regularly uses we will ensure we always keep them in stock.” Adding to the family nature of the business, Stephen and Leanne’s son, Lachlan, joined the business as an apprentice Mechanical Engineer six months ago and is thriving on the opportunities it brings. “We were wanting to grow the business and Lachie has always expressed an interest in what his father does, so employing him as an apprentice seemed the right thing to do. In years to come he might even take the business over.” SERVICE TECHNICIAN Stephen Jones 027 230 8828 Servicing Centrifuge machinery throughout the South Island Able to source all Separator and Decanter parts PARTS Leanne Jones 027 494 7842 info@onsitemaintenance.net.nz www.onsitemaintenance.net.nz
