Award winning interior designer Davinia Sutton is reaping the rewards of her life long passion. Since 2007 her company Detail by Davinia Sutton has accomplished more than 100 national and international awards, including a major win at the 2023 NKBA Awards. Davinia and her team received 14 accolades, including Designer of the Year. She said it had been an exciting time, one that she believes was a reflection of her studio’s journey and lots of hard work. For Davinia, her love of art and design started at a young age. “I can vividly remember sitting next to my mother in her graphic design studio, drawing and ‘working’ with her letterset, aged four,” she said. As the years went on, Davinia transformed her passion into a long-standing career path. It was during the era of Mitre 10 Changing Rooms that sparked her inspiration, when she realised she could merge her love of art with interior design. Surrounded by architectural and interior magazines, Davinia immersed herself in a world that has become her life. She went on to complete a Diploma in Interior Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Spatial Design. Now, with 24 years experience behind her and 15 years at the helm of Detail by Davinia Sutton, she can be proud of her accomplishments.
