From his workshop on Otaki Street, Neil, a skilled and knowledgeable metal designer & fabricator, has served as a practical problem solver since 2015. In collaboration with his wife Viv, who adeptly manages the administrative aspects, the family owned and operated business stays dedicated to specialising in top tier metal fabrication and mechanical servicing for diesel vehicles. In time, the reins of the business are set to pass to Neil and Viv’s son, Chad Patrick – a fully qualified diesel mechanic with 16 years’ experience in the heavy transport sector. “Chad’s a very capable heavy transport mechanic and will ensure the continuation of open and honest communication regarding any identified problems, and he’ll try really hard to source any parts required to keep your fleet up and running,’” says Viv. With mechanical aptitude in his genes, Chad’s journey began in 2010 with a heavy transport mechanical apprenticeship with McDowell Mechanical, now known as Diesel Transport Services. Following qualification, he gained further experience working in Fulton Hogan’s workshop and served as workshop manager for Clearwater Civil Ltd for three years before joining his father’s business.
