Rolleston Homes, specialises in new builds, outdoor areas, and extensions and renovations, had been busy across the board in recent years, Mackay said. His team of five was currently finishing up four projects and had four more to get underway this year. Starting his business in the rapidly growing satellite town had been a relatively smooth process, Phil said. “I started out as a lone soldier doing everything, and we’ve just built it gradually over the last five years.” The company works mainly out of Rolleston, but has recently completed jobs at Rangiora, Sumner and Methven. One project was revamping a cattery, which was a relatively straightforward shed. “But obviously we divided it into separate cubicles with double gated systems,” Phil said.
