We’ve maintained our entire workforce right the way through and we intend to do that going forward. While the future is a little bit uncertain, at the same time it’s full of opportunities.” In the days following lockdown, Peter reached out to his senior team and asked them to think in innovative ways about different elements of the business that could be expanded upon. “Our philosophy is to keep our head down and keep focused on the current projects we have. But we’re also keeping a close watch on our future pipeline of work. “The purpose of the workshop was really a reset for the future and out of that came some good ideas that respond to the current climate, while utilizing the business’s existing skill sets.” One of those ideas was around providing due diligence using Triple Star Management’s diverse internal resources to provide a comprehensive pre property-purchase advice to clients, look at plan- ning and surveying issues and cost issues related to land acquisition. With many offshore clients eyeing New Zealand as a safe place to be at the back of the pandemic but unable to get here to view properties, the inter- net has been their only source of information. “So we’ve been able to look at various proper- ties on their behalf and provide a comprehensive assessment so that they can move forward with an acquisition. “Another idea is on the facilities management and maintenance side to protect our client’s invest- ments.” One of the great paradoxes of project manage- ment is that clarity is achieved through chaos—an ethos embraced by Triple Star Management.
