Richard Loader N estled at the foot of the mighty Remarka- bles mountain range in Queenstown’s up and coming area of Frankton, 56 luxurious townhouses that form stage one of Remarkables Residences are nearing completion. Encompassing 3.8 hectares, the dramatically magical site offers panoramic views of the Crown Range, Coronet Peak, Walter Peak and of course The Remarkables themselves. Developed by Singaporean company GYP Proper- ties and inspired by the bountiful natural environ- ment, the homes have been mindfully-planned by Ignite Architects, with each individual property enjoying unique views according to its position. Heading construction of Stage One is multi- award winning Queenstown based residential and commercial builder Rilean Construction. With unexpected delays caused by Covid-19, GYP Properties anticipates that the homes will be handed over to purchasers in Q3 of 2020. “By and large, homeowners have been under- standing as we work through Covid-19 complexities and we look forward to welcoming them to the development,” says Kirsty Simpson, GYPP Market- ing Manager. While stage one consists of 56 townhouses, between 200-225 homes will be built across all stages. Apartments may be included across later stages providing the community with a range of home options designed to complement the develop- ment. Ignite Architects has cleverly created a variety of designs and configurations in Stage One to offer homeowners individuality amidst the community. The townhouses are constructed using stained timber weatherboard, painted weatherboard, pro- filed metal and brick with long run metal roofing. “They are four bedrooms, some with a studio option that works well for rental. “Stage One also incorporates pocket parks for residents to enjoy, with beautiful landscaping designed by Baxter Design Group.” Kirsty says that while the stage one townhouses have been designed for owner-occupiers, they are suitable as a permanent home, holiday stay or for investment. “Currently 51 of the 56 homes in stage one have been sold, with purchasers mainly from New Zea- land with a mix predominantly of local Queenstown owner occupiers and Auckland investors,” says Kirsty. “These home are suitable for a wide range of purchasers - families who are already local to the Queenstown area and want a dry modern home; investors who want to rent the homes long term; and kiwi holiday goers who want an easy lock and leave option for their trips to Queenstown.” In the heart of Frankton, Remarkables Residenc- es has many nearby amenities including a diverse range of shopping and dining options and central Queenstown. A short drive to the ski slopes and shimmering Lake Wakatipu the region is replete with adventure activities galore including mountain biking, jet boat- ing, skiing and bungy jumping. A Singapore public-listed company with offices in Singapore and in Auckland, GYP Properties’ board and its key shareholders have decades of real estate experience in New Zealand, Australia and Singapore. “We’ve been active in property development for some years now but officially changed our name from Global Yellow Pages to GYP Properties in 2018,” says Kirsty. “We have commercial, retail and residential assets and are currently also developing Pakuranga Precinct and Bellfield Estate in Auckland. “We are totally committed to the New Zealand market.” The Remarkables Residences development in Frankton has been mindfully-planned by Ignite Architects, with each individual property enjoying unique views according to its position.
