Now under construction by Hanham & Philp Contractors and due for completion in September, a fourth warehouse will provide Direct Logistics with 3PL warehousing for the food, beverage and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors. Located in Ngai Tahu’s Mania industrial development, and purpose designed by Christchurch based structural engineering company Engenium, the building will encompass 10,000m2 (a hectare) of warehouse space, along with a large container yard area, canopy space, container docks and a 280m2 office. “Our three existing warehouses in Christchurch encompass about 12,500m2 and most of our current customers include the building and packaging industry,” says Nathan. “The knee height of the new building is twelve metres, and fifteen metres at the apex, and the racking will be eleven metres tall with a pallet on top.
