Brothers Josh and Mitch King started South Projects in 2021 and have already delivered four sets of townhouses and a handful of stand-alone homes to the market. Builder Josh and electrician Mitch are working with subcontractors they know and are excited to see everyone’s businesses growing together. “That’s one of the best things about South Projects, seeing each other grow,” Josh says. “We’ve got a passion for turning up to work and building houses every day. I work seven days a week and it doesn’t feel like work. While they take a lot of satisfaction out of helping people get into lovely new homes, they concede it is getting harder to do with more regulation and ever-increasing materials prices pushing costs higher and higher with every passing month. “We always build above standard anyway but we can see the cost of the recent upgrades to the building code being passed on to the client by other developers,” Josh says. “We get emails every month saying materials prices are going up and we just have to take the hit and adapt. “That’s why we are building townhouses, and why we are starting to build more standalone homes so we can offer an architectural product as well.”
