Amidst 20 entries across four main categories from a dozen individual civil contracting companies, Fulton Hogan – Canterbury submitted three entries, each demonstrating the team’s capability. An entry in the $500,000 to $2.5 million category was for the Drydock Electrical Upgrade for the Lyttleton Port Company, while an entry in the $2.5 million to $5 million range was for the upgrade of PrimePort’s Number One Wharf in Timaru. The final entry was in the over $5 million category for work on the Greater Omoto Resilience project, which was a large riverbank stabilisation project following a large landslide that was pushing the Kiwi Railway line into the Grey River. Entries are all judged by a team of experienced industry professionals who often tour the projects to assess performance, speak to the project teams involved and review the comprehensive information provided by each entrant. The prestigious awards evening was held at Christchurch’s historic Mona Vale homestead on Saturday the 5th of November. “There were some fantastic projects put forward by a range of companies,” says Philip. “The number and quality of entries is a real reflection of the amount of civil construction projects that are currently progressing in the region and the industry as a whole does a lot of excellent work. It was really nice to be part of the awards and see good projects and businesses get recognised, and we congratulate all those companies that were successful.” “The number and quality of entries is a real reflection of the amount of civil construction projects that are currently progressing in the region ...”
