Seven² BUILDING The rapidly evolving construction industry requires a change of approach and here to provide it is Invercargill’s Seven², combining high-quality materials, affordability, and a simple, seamless process to deliver dream homes across Southland and beyond. Seven² managing director Jason Gorton says there is a real need for more housing in Southland, and up in Central Otago where his company also works. Local house prices have risen, not astronomically but still, putting newhome builders in direct competition with the second-hand home market. “We’ve got to be competitive,” Jason says. “The cost of construction is a real barrier for many, so we’ve got to find some efficiency through the process to make it more affordable.” As an option, Seven² has its own construction facility in Invercargill, which produces affordable, quality, and quite beautiful homes with an off-site manufacturing process that challenges current timeframes and costs, ready to be delivered straight to any site in Southland or Central Otago. “One of the reasons we’re started off-site manufacturing is as soon as you get out of town or on to some tricky site, costs start to go up,” Jason says. “You’ll have to pay travel for every trade, every plumber, and every painter that comes to work on the project, and for all the different deliveries of materials to site. With off-site manufacturing, we’ve taken out all of those costs. We’ve got our builders and subcontractors all in one place, and we can take bulk deliveries of materials in one truck load.” Seven² is offering generously sized builds and even two-storey homes that can be easily transported across Southland’s flat contour. The off-site manufacturing process brings more efficiencies with the major issue of construction waste. Jason says with an on-site build, left-over materials deemed uneconomical to return to the supplier can often be wasted. At Seven², they are simply used on the next project in line. More environmental benefits come from manufacturing indoors, as loads of materials can be delivered bound up rather than wrapped in plastic. Jason has been building since 2008, and integrity has always been high on his list of values. He has built up a group of companies to include light-commercial construction, and earthworks and excavation, providing a full-service package for both residential and commercial clients. He still works alongside every customer throughout their project, from the drawing board through the council consenting process and on to either the factory manufacturing process or the construction site. With Seven², Jason and the team are creating affordable homes with a high-end look and feel. A range of stylish and functional pre-designed plans provide a starting point for customers to create a home of their very own, with Jason helping them through every decision, customisation, and selection. “This could include anything from choosing to build on your site or opting for a transportable home constructed at our building facility,” he says. “You might consider adding a garage or decking, or deciding whether you prefer our Metra panel system or a standard timber frame. We are here to guide you through your options and help determine the best solution for your situation.” More than just accounting. 03 211 0801 | 160 Spey Street, Invercargill 9810 McIntyreDick are proud to support Seven2 with their accounting, business advisory& development needs.
