42 | Carter Group - Earlsbrook T T Richard Loader New housing in a ‘special’ location With a mixture of section sizes on offer, Earlsbrook will be popular with buyers from first-home buyers, to families big and small. “The benefit of a large subdivision over smaller, piecemeal developments is the opportunity to create a cohesive community. The entire subdivision will be walkable and include plenty of green spaces for residents to enjoy.” DEVELOPMENT Development company Carter Group has released plans and sections for ‘Earlsbrook’, a large new housing development in Lincoln that was due to break ground in November. Earlsbrook will be the last significant piece of land to be rezoned for residential development in Lincoln, and will offer much-needed housing to the Selwyn region, says Tim Carter. “In recent years, Lincoln has experienced rapid growth, becoming one of Canterbury’s most sought-after locations for families, professionals and students. “Unfortunately, housing hasn’t kept up with demand and residents are struggling with a severe lack of suitable housing to support the growth.” Tim says the subdivision, which was previously referred to as Lincoln South, has been master-planned to ensure a high quality of living among residents. “The benefit of a large subdivision over smaller, piecemeal developments is the opportunity to create a cohesive community. The entire subdivision will be walkable and include plenty of green spaces for residents to enjoy.” The scale of the subdivision will also see more amenities come to Lincoln, with plans for a new supermarket, primary school and retirement village, as well as a park-and-ride facility, which will support Lincoln as it continues to grow. “Our vision for Earlsbrook is to preserve the character and charm that makes Lincoln special by offering homes that people love and spaces where they truly feel part of a neighbourhood – not just another house on the street. “We know the people of Lincoln will warmly welcome new residents and support them to integrate into the family-focused community they’ve built.” Bayley’s sales specialist Chris Jones says the demand in Selwyn is continually growing. “Lincoln retains its lovely rural and village feel, yet has easy access to the city, great schooling, a university across the road, plus more and more job opportunities. “By having a mixture of section sizes, Earlsbrook will be popular with buyers from first-home buyers, to families big and small, investors and older buyers looking for a lovely spot to build their dream home close to amenities,” Chris says. “Without hesitation, all the builders we have spoken to want to be involved. They can see the scale, quality and location are all going to make this a great success. “That’s the big advantage of a large-scale community such as Earlsbrook. It can be master-planned right from the start.” Lincoln was named after the Earl of Lincoln, one of the British pioneers who helped form the Canterbury Association in the 1800s to establish a settlement in New Zealand. The name Earlsbrook reflects this historic connection. Carter Group is a privately held, family-owned and Canterbury-based company established in 1946. A long-term developer in Canterbury, the group holds extensive experience in residential subdivision development, having previously completed Hyde Park in Avonhead, and Regents Park in Casebrook. Regents Park was the first subdivision in Christchurch to create streams and lakes within the development. Encompassing 300 sections, it is regarded as a highly successful development with a unique and enjoyable living environment. Carter Group’s commitment to the region is also reflected in the successful retail and commercial development, The Crossing, in Christchurch’s CBD and the IPort Business Park, a large industrial development in Rolleston.
