58 | to page 60 ENGINEERING Petrotec Services Karen Phelps Driving force in fuel infrastructure Petrotec has a very strong relationship with Allied Petroleum across the country. “We provide the entire package for a diverse range of clients and projects from small farm tank installations through to design-build solutions for service stations, truck stops and industrial fuel facilities.” Since its inception in 1987 Petrotec Services Ltd has been a driving force behind New Zealand’s petroleum infrastructure, transforming fuel station development and maintenance with its comprehensive, innovative approach. “Petrotec is a design, build and service organisation with a host of distributorships that enable us to provide the full range of solutions to our customers,” says Commercial Manager Richard Sibbald. “We provide the entire package for a diverse range of clients and projects from small farm tank installations through to design-build solutions for service stations, truck stops and industrial fuel facilities.” Recent projects highlight the company’s breadth of work. It has completed fuel stop builds for Tasman Fuels, including Springs Road near the Halswell Junction roundabout in Christchurch, with other sites currently under construction in Christchurch and Greymouth. Petrotec also has a very strong relationship with Allied Petroleum. Over eleven years, it has constructed 23 fuel stops nationwide including a recent build in Blenheim. Richard says Petrotec’s services are comprehensive covering everything from site investigations and scoping reports to design, build and compliance with the HSNO Act (Hazardous Substances and New Organisms). While Petrotec handles the petroleum-related aspects internally it strategically employs trusted subcontractors for additional works such as concrete, canopy construction and landscaping. Petrotec’s service expertise also covers electrical components, pump and dispenser maintenance, tank and line testing, fuel sampling and fuel management systems.
