HPA has a 20-year background in major project developments, with its retirement village concept based on “building amazing communities,” according to project manager Hamish Ward. The first residents in the 11-stage, over nine years, moved into their new Amberley Country to page 98 Estate villa in November, and “they’re absolutely loving being there,” Hamish says. The project will eventually boast no fewer than 250 villas, all of at least two bedrooms, ranging in size from 90m2 to 180m2, presently supported by a temporary club-house featuring lounge, bar, library-media room, kitchen and dining room, spa, gym and extensive landscaping. Stage Four will see the building of a permanent community club-house featuring all the services in the temporary facility, plus 12 serviced apartments, a swimming pool, bowling green and on-site services such as hairdressers. The first three of the 11 stages of the development, along with stages five to ten, will see the creation of approximately 20 villas each, with stage one expected to be completed by May of 2023. The village is being built on 14ha just inside the southern boundary of the rapidly growing township of Amberley, the administration centre of Hurunui District, within walking district of shops and services. “The intention is to be able to keep our aged Amberley residents local, to save the family unit,” Hamish says. 0800 999 333 hello@do.nz www.do.nz Christchurch / Timaru Greymouth / Nelson Land Surveying / Resource Management Environmental Science / Structural Engineering Geotechnical Engineering / Civil Engineering Proud to be carboNZero certified PROUD TO PARTNER WITH HPA GROUP ON THE AMBERLEY COUNTRY ESTATE “As a community project we’re able to firstly employ local contractors to do the work, then going forward the facility will provide permanent employment for locals in the likes of management, maintenance and sales.”
