We are creating the client’s and architect’s vision and dream.” Nevin moved to Wanaka in 1998 and initially built spec houses before transitioning to high-end architectural homes. His company’s reputation for excellence has helped it maintain a strong workflow, even during the recent challenging economic conditions. At Lakeside Road in Wanaka, it is constructing a premium home designed by Johnston Architects of Christchurch. It features a two-storey layout with a cantilevered outdoor deck offering panoramic lake views. A two-storey project, also in Wanaka, by Christchurch-based 360 Architecture includes cedar, schist and lightweight plaster cladding and features an outdoor swimming pool showcasing stunning lake views. Another recent project is a 460sqm, two-storey Wanaka home, secured through client referral. This also showcases the firm’s attention to detail with features including a lift system connecting to the upper level, and five bedrooms including a master bedroom with ensuite. A project at Sunrise Bay Drive in Wanaka further exemplifies the company’s capabilities. Working with Petrie Architects of Christchurch, it delivered a sophisticated two-storey residence featuring a schist entrance way, floating staircase and premium fixtures throughout. At Mt Cardrona Station, the company is demonstrating its versatility with a 250sqm project that showcases high-end materials and sophisticated design elements. The home, another collaboration with Johnston Architects, combines schist and Abodo cladding to create a distinctive aesthetic that complements its alpine setting. The two- storey home includes a double garage, master with ensuite plus another bathroom and powder room, and a dining/kitchen/living area downstairs. Upstairs are another two bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Nevin says the success of Gibb Building Wanaka can be attributed to its comprehensive approach to project management. Nevin also maintains a hands-on approach by working alongside his team of builders whenever possible. “Our focus is to work alongside the architect and our clients from the early stages to understand the overall concept of the project, and to work together to ensure we achieve and meet all of the client’s brief and exceed their expectations.
