Repair My Home BUILDING For many homeowners, the decision to sell in order to upgrade, or to stay put and renovate their current property is a pivotal one. Owner of Invercargill building company, Repair My Home Ltd, Bryce Caird has a clear message. “Before selling up, take a good look at what you already have. Renovating can transform your home into everything you want – without the stress of the unknown.” A trade-qualified, licensed building practitioner with 13 years’ experience in residential building throughout Southland and Otago, Bryce founded Repair My Home Ltd in 2019. Local to Invercargill, Bryce and his team comprise two qualified and experienced builders and an apprentice. A trusted name in renovations, Repair My Home offers a full suite of services from renos to new builds, and rural construction and concreting, decks, patios, and fencing. “We’re a one-stop-shop for everything building,” says Bryce. The company provides a full design-and-build service from its in-house team, which includes Claudia Cunningham, who is a year away from qualifying with her B.Arch degree. “Whether it’s working with existing plans or helping draw them up, we collaborate to bring visions to life,” says Bryce. Offering custom builds, exterior enhancements and interior upgrades, Repair My Home specialises in transformational renovations, adding value and functionality to homes of every style. “A lot of people are realising they’re better off keeping the home they’ve got,” says Bryce. “And with the fall in interest rates and greater availability of top trades, now is a good time to renovate.” Renovating also lets homeowners leverage the solid foundations of older homes. Bryce points to projects like a recent transformation of a weatherboard clad, former state house on Tweed Street. Originally a modest home, it became a highend residence complete with a 70sqm extension resulting in a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home with two living areas. “Stage one was a 70sqm extension and stage two was gut the existing 75 square metres and upgrade it to match.” The exterior to the new extension was Sto Façade panel and plaster system. The interior remodel included two new lounge areas, new laundry, and kitchen with additional butler’s pantry. Three new decking areas were added, and the result was a stunning high-end home that will serve the needs of its owners well into the future. For the project, Bryce used his trusted subbies, Elite Painting, Camerons Flooring, Southland Drywall Solutions, Edge Electric, Plumbing South, JP Plastering, Howley Joinery and Tile Centre. Renovating often raises questions about cost versus value and avoiding over-capitalisation. Bryce emphasises experience and transparency. “Once you’ve done a few renovations, you get a good feel for what is worth investing in. We guide clients to ensure their upgrades are not only stunning, but also add real value.” Looking ahead, Bryce is also focused on growing his second business, First Generation Homes, which aims to provide various transportable homes at affordable prices. “Watch this space. In the meantime, if you’re building or renovating, give us a call for a free, no-obligation quote, and let’s see what’s possible with your home.” Proudly supporting RepairMyHome New home wiring and full rewiring of existing homes Bathroom electrical needs; lighting, power points, heated towel rails Kitchen electrical needs; lighting, power points, appliance installation Phone: 0279493727 Email: jason@edgeelectric.co.nz www.edgeelectric.co.nz Electrician Invercargill
