T T to page 68 Home Trends Builders is redefining central Christchurch living with a set of four highly engineered, triple-storey luxury homes now rising on Dublin Street, each offering expansive rooftop living, rare four-car garaging, and flooring systems delivered with 30% less carbon through Firth’s low-carbon concrete technology. Home Trends Builders director, Peter de Gouw, says the development brings a new level of architectural confidence to a conservative market, introducing design features and materials not previously seen in the city. The homes are designed around what Peter calls a “skydeck” concept, with outdoor living, expansive rooftop planters, a rooftop bar and indoor bbq kitchen, and panoramic views across Hagley Park. With more than 410sqm of indoor floor area, and extensive balcony and rooftop spaces, the project sets out to deliver central city living on a scale usually associated with suburban homes rather than apartments. Each home carries a freehold title and no body corporate obligations, another point of difference Peter believes Christchurch buyers are ready for. The construction programme has been one of the most challenging in the company’s nearly 40-year history.
