Looking to grow your business through equipment acquisition? TDF can make it happen! FITTING NEW EQUIPMENT INTO YOUR BUSINESS www.tdf.nz | 7/38 Ellis Street, Brightwater, Nelson Founded in 2017 by Frankie Davidson, Dale Ewers and Daniel Ewers, TDF Solutions is a leading provider of heavy industrial equipment. Currently operating predominantly in the forestry sector, TDF Solutions has a clear aspiration to provide its services to additional sectors throughout New Zealand. While based in the lovely Nelson region, TDF has customers and machines from Whangarei to Blu , allowing its team to see the entire country along with the challenges faced in each of those locations. Frankie explains that while the majority of TDF Solutions’ business is generated from a lease to purchase method, lease only options are also o ered to its customers. The heart of TDF Solutions is to provide a pathway for businesses to ultimately own equipment they may otherwise not be able to purchase. Working with PF Olsen for the last 10 years, Moir Logging is an excellent example of how the lease arrangement has enabled the business to grow. Starting with a lease to purchase agreement for a Winch Assist Machine in 2018, Moir Logging has been able to purchase a leet of ive machines, enabling them to progress their business in the way it needed to grow, while building equity. “The plant was out earning the deposit for other machinery rather than having to be funded from cash low,” says Frankie. Jason Moir agrees, saying the ‘buy and build’ options that TDF o ered allowed his company to operate whilst the management of equipment build was taken care of; something that can be extremely time consuming when you have a day job. “The ability to build a deposit for a million dollar piece of equipment is one of the key drivers to use TDF Solutions. It allowed our business to turn a corner,” says Jason.” From start-up businesses right through to customers establishing an exit-strategy TDF Solutions supplies machinery to a wide spectrum of companies. “We have customers planning an exit strategy who don’t want a high debt loading on machinery before selling the business on. Those customers prefer to use TDF Solutions to provide the equipment, thus minimising businesses debt.” Frankie says businesses often use TDF Solutions as a way to maintain cash low where a business opportunity presents itself. “Many companies don’t have the time or project management to be able to undertake the purchase of equipment from quotation to delivery and commissioning. For example, a logging company might be thinking of buying a new falling machine. We will go to the market and then present a number of options in terms of value and technology to the customer. Collectively we will agree on the best falling machine. The thing is, we have access to machines from most suppliers and the customer gets the bene it of that plus our ability to access machinery much faster than a customer could. We deal with the supplier direct, we deal with the transportation, we deliver, and we commission the machine on site with our customers.” Frankie says being an accessible, personable business focused on people, and actively involved with the customers’ business including being onsite has been the key to TDF’s success since its very foundations.
