The company’s specialist team has an absolute commitment to the client with the skills and experience to ensure quality results, whether it’s a repair, renovation, or new home build. Director Hamish Wright’s founding ethos – to stand behind every repair and project – stood the city in good stead after the earthquakes, and continues to be the mission statement implemented by general manager Ben Adams and the whole Wrightway team. Quake repair work is still ongoing, as people continue to discover earthquake damage that was not properly identified or resolved at the time. “We still get multiple enquiries every week on earthquake-related matters,” says Jackson Donlan, Wrightway’s operations manager. “We have a lot of experience in that area and will keep going as long as there are people needing our services. We can identify potential damage, scope the repairs and provide clarity on costs and timelines. We work hard to take the stress off our clients’ shoulders and give them a smooth process.” Jackson joined Wrightway Construction in 2020, bringing with him extensive experience in building high-end architectural homes in Ashburton. He says, today, the company’s close-knit team works across a wide range of projects. “We’re well-known for earthquake repairs, but we build new homes too. I came here with eight or nine years’ experience in architectural new builds. Our senior project manager Luan Van Der Heever has vast experience in renovations and new builds. “Our broad skillset ensures we can deliver across a wide project range. Currently, we have 22 in our building team – seven foremen, six apprentices and nine carpenters – as well as three LBP project managers, two QS specialists and office admin staff.” Scott Connelly, lead quantity surveyor, joined Wrightway Construction in 2022. After starting his career in earthquake repairs and strengthening, he then became a qualified quantity surveyor and loss adjustor working across the construction and insurance industries before joining Wrightway. He had heard about the company’s good reputation and says that reputation is well-deserved. “I really enjoy working here, and that’s because it’s such a good team,” says Scott. “We’re pretty fortunate to have a healthy pipeline of work through the rest of the year, with a diverse line-up of new builds, renovations and insurance repairs.” Wrightway Construction’s latest project is a new family home in Marshlands. Built on a 484sqm section, this inviting three-bedroom, two-bathroom home (174sqm) has been thoughtfully designed with multiple family and living areas. Standout features include brushed-brass fixtures, stylish laminate flooring in the kitchen and dining areas, quality tiled bathrooms and laundry, and dedicated outdoor living areas. “We’re proud of the high standard achieved by our team, on budget, in this four-month project,” says Jackson. “The homeowner is now enjoying life in their lovely new home.” Nearing completion is another notable project for Wrightway Construction, this one being a new home built to resemble one that used to stand on the Heathcote site.
