| 45 DAIRY INDUSTRY Danone New Zealand Spray Nozzle Engineering Ltd based in Hamilton has been a quiet achiever in the world of spray drying nozzle technology, and 15 years on, continues to develop locally and export globally their innovative Click&Dry TM spray dry nozzle system; increasing safety and hygiene, reducing costs and helping NZ Dairy Plants make the world’s best milk powder. With Spray Nozzle’s first worldwide patents issued in NZ, they now hold patents in North America, Europe, China, Australia for a complete range of world leading technologies, not seen since the first spray dryers using nozzles were invented in the late 1960’s. Now proven the world over, on all dryer configurations, producing everything from bovine, sheep, goat and protein powders, to nutritional, commodity low fat and high fat powders alike. Recognised and used by South Island dairy companies such as Danone Nutricia and others. As a result, Spray Nozzle Engineering have recently opened their regional technology centre, with the commissioning of the latest Malvern spray-tech laser droplet analyser system; able to give end user clients even more accurate droplet data than ever before, ultimately assisting in new product development and better powder production when using the Click&Dry TM spray dry nozzle system. Spray Nozzle Engineering has a list of world firsts, including first hygienic smooth flow internal design, guaranteed three-year hardware anti-thread seizing nozzle bodies, new “no bearding” safety nozzle caps designed to reduce product build up on the nozzle and deliver longer running, less scorched particles and less risk of dryer fires. Spray Nozzle Engineering were the first company to offer online operator SOP training, special tools to reduce parts breakage to save time and money and provide premium materials that can be cleaned in acid and caustic alike; a game changer to drier operators and a major cost reduction every season. Recently the company solved the problem of nozzles dripping into dryers and fluid beds, with their patented ‘ Drip- Pro TM ’ spray dry nozzle check valve system, reducing dryer contamination and reducing cleaning. Supplied as an optional add-on, it allows the user to easily install the anti-drip valve at any time, without modification or welding, even after the initial installation; another innovation developed right here in Aotearoa and exported around the World; just another way Spray Nozzle Engineering Ltd leads the world in spray dry nozzle technology. Since its introduction, local and international plants alike have adopted the Click&Dry nozzle System , saving time, consumable costs; but most importantly, reducing risk and increasing safety compliance INNOVATION FOR DAIRY POWDER PRODUCES TO REDUCE COST & INCREASE SAFETY spraydrynozzle.com | sales@spraynozzle.co.nz “ “ Customer Focused Process Automation & System Integration nemesys.co.nz Process automation experts Nemesys has recently started a Southland branch to better service its growing customer base in that region.
