With eleven houses already completed along with a 59-bed Care Centre complete with rest home and hospital facilities already operational and admitting people, construc- tion of the next group of houses is about to commence. On offer since the end of March this year, three of the houses have already been occu- pied under an industry standard Occupational Right Agreement. With people at heart, Qestral’s underlying ethos is about creating beautiful places where people in a variety of stages of life feel wel- come, comfortable and at home. Qestral’s Managing Director Simon O’Dowd says the key philosophy behind Coastal View is to create a village that embraces a strong architectural and urban design, ensuring residents enjoy a sense of neighbourhood and independence reflective of the wider commu - nity. The creation of cul-de-sacs, small streets and little neighbourhoods within the village encourage people in those small areas to en- gage, forge friendships and look out for each other — often enjoying a ‘friendly neighbour- hood tipple or BBQ’. “We try to individualise the houses to a de- gree that enables people to feel like it’s their own. The master plan has several different styles of housing throughout the village, which include two-bedrooms, three-bedrooms, single and double garages. “Some homes will have en-suite and bath - room. Generally homes are all stand-alone, though there will be a few adjoining two-sto- rey houses running around the boundaries to enhance views.” While not every home will have a coastal view, a good number will enjoy views over the Bay with many more embracing views out to the hills to the south and west. “We are trying to give people as much varie- ty as possible,” says Simon. As with all Qestral’s retirement villages, the independence offered is underpinned with leading edge technology and a caring team qualified to meet the varying and changing needs of its residents. It is also about resi- dents having a strong sense of control and being able to make decisions about their own future.
