JCBCONTRACTING .CO.NZ Cohesive Construction has just completed stage one of its own development at Ngai Tahu Property’s highly sought after Tawhiri development. Located in Hoskyns Road, Rolleston, the Tawhiri development adjoins the highly successful Izone Business Hub and is near the Iport Business Park. The site is well positioned for major transit links including Metroport freight hub – Port of Tauranga; Port of Lyttelton; Midland – inland port; State Highway and Kiwirail networks; Christchurch international Airport and the Southern Motorway. Cohesive Construction’s Tawhiri site encompasses 3500sqm that will be home to its own Canterbury office along with seven other units leased to local businesses. Paul Lynch, Managing Director for Cohesive Construction, says the site was chosen mainly because it was a prominent site and is in one of the fastest growing districts in Christchurch. “The location is local to where Cohesive Construction has been busy building in recent times and where we will continue to build further projects. “We were one of the first businesses to build in Iport, which is where our Canterbury office currently operates. Since then Cohesive Construction has built about half the buildings in the Iport development.” Cohesive Construction’s Tawhiri development has been planned over two stages and encompasses two attractive L shaped blocks of commercial units. First stage completed Stage 1 consists of five units and has just been completed with Rolleston Engineering already in residence. While construction commenced October/ November last year work was impacted by Covid-19 and didn’t gain real momentum till January 2022. Stage 2 consists of three units and is expected to be completed in September. Other tenants confirmed include Jalmac, UBX Training, a dog grooming business and a café. Cohesive Construction Canterbury will also be relocating there once Stage 2 has been completed. Cohesive Construction designs and builds cutting-edge commercial, industrial, and residential projects across New Zealand. They offer a wide range of in-house services including design, quantity surveying, construction, and project management. Specialising in truly customised buildings; from aircraft hangars to load out facilities; honey factories to salmon hatcheries; packhouses to warehousing —the team at Cohesive Construction have built them all. “We construct over four hundred buildings a year,” says Paul. “Our customers can feel confident in knowing they are building with a professional and experienced team that understands the materials and building methods they are presenting.” Cohesive Construction was established in 2010, when the Lynch family saw a need for quality steel framed sheds in the Canterbury region, which led to the purchase of the South Island franchise of Wide Span Sheds. In 2021, the ‘Cohesive’ brand was launched to better reflect the company’s capabilities and expansion into the commercial and residential markets.
