| 51 ENGINEERING ET Engineering Structural steel accounts for about 50 per cent of ET Engineering’s business. “We really are the go-to engineers for tow bars and trailers, but we will do anything from a small five-dollar job fixing a fire grate to balustrades and handrails. The local community remains a massive part of our business, and provide our day-to-day cash flow. That’s also about building relationships. The local builder buys a new vehicle, comes to us for a new tow bar, and then realises that we also do extensive structural projects. Customer relationships and providing a high-quality service has been the key to good business for me.” Many of ET Engineering’s structural projects are drawn from local construction companies, along with an increasing number of bigger construction companies with a national presence. “Our structural steel projects range fifty-fifty between residential and large structural warehouses and factories. Most of the architectural homes in Nelson have steel in them and a house we signed up yesterday has 13 tonne of steel in it. We’re pricing projects $500,000 or more, and with the Beam Line coming we intend to grow to million-dollar projects and beyond. It will also enable us to offer processing of steel for other engineering companies.” NI CHOLSON PROTECT I VE COAT I NGS • Water Jetting • Paint Specifications • Maintenance Programs • Coatings Application & Sales • Abrasive Blasting Industrial • Marine • Civil 92 Beatty St, Nelson • P. 03 547 7407 • Mob. 0272 390 205 • www.nicholsons.co.nz Proud to support ET Engineering NELSON BLENHEIM SOCKBURN SYDENHAM ASHBURTON TIMARU DUNEDIN INVERCARGILL SH P ONLINE holding NewZealand together since 1989 30+YEARS SERVICE Proudly supporting with their workwear ET ENGINEERING
