T T Bernadette Cooney Unparalleled roofing solutions backed by decades of expertise and dedication to excellence is what you can expect from Roofcraft Industries Ltd of Gore, a subsidiary of the renowned roofing manufacturers, Marshall Industries in Invercargill. At the heart of Roofcraft Industries lies a commitment to nurturing talent and fostering professional growth. Led by Branch Manager Jason Harvey, a stalwart of the company for 22 years, Roofcraft Industries has mentored numerous apprentice roofers through their three-year apprenticeship program. This dedication to on-the-job training has not only earned accolades, such as Darian Giles winning Trainee of the Year in the 2023 Roofing Association of New Zealand Awards, but also ensures a team of skilled professionals delivering exceptional results. “We’re big on bringing through our trainees,” says Jason, “we’ve got four of them on the team currently and want them to become top-notch roofers with high standards of workmanship.” Through rigorous NZQA qualifications and workplace health and safety training, facilitated by Vertical Horizons, apprentices emerge as competent and safety-conscious roofing contractors, ready to tackle the evolving demands of the industry. Paired with roofing coordinator Jock Cummings, Jason oversees a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from commercial undertakings to residential repairs. Whether it’s supplying Marshall and Pioneer brand tray and corrugate steel roofing for expansive commercial ventures or addressing the roofing needs of local homeowners, Roofcraft Industries excels in delivering tailored solutions with precision and expertise. “It just so happens we’ve been doing a lot of commercial projects for the last few years, but we’re equally happy to do a repair on a house down the road with a couple of sheets of iron,” says Jason. Roofcraft Industries offer a full manufacture and install service for roofing, vertical cladding, spouting and fascia as well as waterproofing membranes and steel products for fencing, planters and accessories. Partnering with Marshall Industries, Roofcraft Industries guarantees a seamless experience from manufacturing to installation, with comprehensive warranties on both products and workmanship. As licensed building practitioners and members of industry associations such as RANZ and the NZ Metal Roofing Manufacturers Association, Roofcraft Industries has longstanding relationships with local builders and subcontractors, further solidifying their reputation as a trusted industry leader. “Some, like Ajax Building Contractors and Jones and Cooper, have been with us longer than the 20+ years I’ve been here,” says Jason. In recent times, Roofcraft Industries have been involved in refurbishment projects for the Mataura Licensing Trust who had been exceptionally good to Roofcraft over the years says Jason, plus they’ve been involved with significant projects for Gore District Council, private developers and local homeowners. “We’ve recently completed a refurbishment at Howl at the Moon and just starting another at Tokanui Tavern. We’ve basically refurbished most of the local pubs apart from Falls Hotel,” says Jason. Invercargill’s Marshall Industries is a third-generation, family owned and operated business which has been providing roofing, manufacturing, sheet metal and light engineering services since it was founded by Owen Marshall in 1936. The company employs 40 staff in total across the district, made up of roofing engineers, trade assistants, labourers and administration personnel. 0508 KONNECT (566 632) KONNECTFASTENINGSYSTEMS.CO.NZ Your one stop shop for all roo ng accessory needs Proud to supply the NZ Roofing Industry - Our Products, Systems, Methods And Services ‘ EcoTUFF suppliers since 2004’ Proudly supporting Roofcraft Industries Ltd Head Office Christchurch: 5/18 Taurus Place, Bromley 8062 Auckland: 2/55 Ash Rd, Wiri 2104 P: (03) 366 9495 (0508) SEALCO E: jeff@sealco.co.nz W: www.sealco.co.nz Every aspect of our business is dedicated to waterproofing
